Sustainability CPD courses for NSW builders

BASIX, energy-efficiency pathways, water, waste and accessible housing. The compliance work that decides whether an occupation certificate gets issued.

  • 6 courses
  • At least 2 points each
  • Certificate on completion

Sustainability is one of the eight NSW CPD topic areas, and NSW’s own examples are practical rather than aspirational: BASIX, waste, green building, water management and accessible buildings. For a residential builder in NSW that is the BASIX certificate the plans were approved with, the energy-efficiency provisions of the NCC, the waste plan the council conditioned, and the livable housing standard that now applies to new dwellings.

These courses are written for the person who has to deliver on those commitments on site, not for the designer who made them. What the certificate binds you to, where the thermal envelope usually gets broken during construction, which compliance pathway the job is on and what evidence the certifier will want at the end.

Every course here is a 1 point per hour activity under the NSW scheme, filed under Sustainability on your certificate. The full rules, including how points are counted and kept, are in the NSW builder CPD guide.
