NSW CPD topic
Business management CPD courses for NSW builders
Project management, time management, bookkeeping and the digital tools that keep a building business solvent.
Business management is the NSW CPD topic area for running the business rather than building the house. NSW lists project management, time management and computer skills as examples. It is the topic builders most often leave until last, and the one the insolvency statistics suggest they should not.
These courses deal with the practical version of each subject: sequencing trades so the program holds, supervising work you are not standing next to, keeping the books in a state your accountant and the compensation fund can live with, and using the software your certifier, supplier and client already expect you to use.
Each course is a 1 point per hour activity under the NSW scheme, recorded under Business management on the certificate. For how the scheme works as a whole, read the NSW builder CPD guide.
