Questions about the templates
Are these construction templates really free?
Yes. Every template downloads free in Word and PDF with no sign-up. There is no paid version and no locked fields.
Can I use them commercially and put my own logo on them?
Yes. They are licensed under Creative Commons Attribution 4.0 (CC BY 4.0): you can copy, adapt, rebrand, print and hand them to clients and subcontractors, including for commercial work. The one condition is that the small PointCPD credit line stays on the document.
Can I republish a template on my own website?
Yes, under the same licence, as long as you credit PointCPD and link back to the template page. Copy the attribution line from the bottom of any template page.
Are these templates compliant with WHS law?
They are built around what the model WHS laws and the relevant Australian Standards expect a document to cover, and the building-practice templates are reviewed by a licensed Building Practitioner. A template is only compliant once it is filled in for the actual job, by people who understand the work, and kept up to date. Check the rules of your own state regulator.
Which states do the templates apply in?
They are written for Australia. Most WHS documents follow the national model laws adopted in every state and territory except Victoria, which has its own occupational health and safety laws with similar requirements. Contract documents such as payment claims follow NSW law and say so where it matters.
Paperwork keeps you covered. Knowing why keeps you out of trouble.
PointCPD courses teach the thinking behind these documents on the approved NSW CPD topics, at least 2 points a course, with an instant certificate.
