Building sites have a culture that can make the line hard to see. Repeated unreasonable behaviour directed at a worker that creates a risk to health and safety is bullying in law, whatever it is called on site, and the builder as the person conducting the business carries a duty to manage that risk like any other.

This course sets out the legal definitions that SafeWork NSW and the Fair Work Commission actually apply, and the difference between bullying, reasonable management action and one-off conflict. It covers the duties that sit with employers and with workers, the signs that appear before a formal complaint does, how to take a complaint without making it worse, and where a stop-bullying application or a SafeWork notice fits. It works through site scenarios rather than office ones, including apprentices, subcontractors and the grey area of banter.

It is filed under the NSW Safety CPD topic and earns points at the 1-point-per-hour tier under the NSW scheme.
